I think this metaquote is hilarious. I have a lot of things planned next week, so I'm not sure I'll be going to the Super Tuesday party after all. I really can't get any sort of excited about this primary

Most importantly, I wanted to show you something awesome I bought today:

In case you're wondering if you're seeing this right, yes, these are chocolate vaginas. Isn't that totally awesome? It's part of a campaign on campus to raise awareness about V-day (an event that wants to get people talking about issues of violence against women), and the upcoming show of the Vagina Monologues. The "Pussy Posse" on campus is also selling t-shirts that read "I <3 my vagina". It's kinda of a really cool thing. I will, of course, let you all know if I've enjoyed the vaginas once I've eaten them. *g*

Also, hmm the lines of Sean's body on that picture. And his cuteness on this one. Heee. I love the hair. (Also *points at icon* more Sean cuteness there.) Okay, so what, this was my shallow bit. I would talk very deeply about his projects if he would have any.

Personally, I think the vagina are bad taste but what the heck.

And Sean in the first picture ... so gay!

Why would it be bad taste?

lol, that's because he's just standing there. *g*

I dunno, I just know I wouldn't buy one. And imagining everybody walking around sucking on vaginas is just too weird ^^ !

If you're shallow, so am I b/c those pics? Mmmmm.... Thanks for starting my day off with the awesomeness that is Sean Maher. *g*

This has nothing to do with your post, but I was wondering what you thought of the French president's recent marriage? I'm sure you're probably already preparing to write a post about it!

I'm curious because lately I've been getting more into politics (domestic and foreign) when before I didn't care much at all.

I don't have much of an opinion on it, really? I really regret the way this presidency has been publicized like this man is some kind of celebrity rather than a politician in office. So really, all I think is that I don't care if he's married or divorced or whatever he wants. I care about what he does with his political power, and how much I disagree with him on that.

So the media frenzy he's been in hasn't really been an issue for French presidents in the past? Do you think he's spent more time on his romance than on politics?

I wish the US was less media-obsessed. Everything gets sensationalized and printed as if it's a tabloid, so it's very difficult to pick out the truth from all the half-truths. You know your media is missing the real issues when the fact that the president almost choked on a pretzel is breaking news.

Oh God, no, that's very very new. We had a President who had an illegitimate daughter and we only learned after his presidency and nobody cared. Everybody in France went WTF over the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, because we were all "so what?". Which is why it's pissing me off that Sarkozy's making his life into a soap opera. It diverts attention from the real issues (which I think is exactly why he does it). Plus like you say, we see where that leads with the US, I don't think our media wants to be going in the same direction.

And I don't think it's telling of him spending more time on his private life than politics, he's a very efficient politician and he's gotten an awful lot done in less than a year. I think it's part of a political strategy, actually. He mingles with the media quite a lot.
