So, I've narrowed it down to 131 pictures from this weekend. Which is still way too much to actually post on LJ. I've divided the pictures in five categories, and the two first have like 12 pictures in it, so I'll be posting that. And the rest, I'll post a few pictures as "previews" and then give a link to my Scrapbook.

But most importantly!!! fan_eluneFan''s report is up! In several parts because it's so huge! You have Opening ceremony + Meet and Greet, Saturday (with all the talks) and Sunday (talks + signing). Kudos to her for putting this up so quickly, seriously. *smooches*

And it made me laugh this morning because in this other report, a girl reported Sean waving at someone during the contest on Saturday, thought he was waving at her. Made me realize probably fifteen people out there are absolutely certain that wave was directed at them. Heh.

Anyway! On to some pictures, mostly shots of the convention itself and a few "body shots", those shots were I cut out the head to keep just the body. I find body positions and lines fascinating like that. And believe me, you want to click. There's a special shot at the end at that batch.

Inevitable ass shot

Very, very endearing indeed. *g*

I think both the drink and Jewel helped - he clearly loves her a lot (if the speech on Sunday wasn't enough of a proof!), and is very at ease with her, which was probably a big part of it. What also struck me is that during the Saturday panel, neither him nor Christina really "led the show" - and at this point I'd always assumed Sean was not really the leading guy type. But then Saturday! He was actually very assertive, didn't let Jewel lead at all - it was more of an equal thing, and I really expected Jewel to step up, so it was a big surprise to me.

Physical theater - that's so cool. What's the concept exactly? I'm more into trying to capture the movements (obviously), and I would love to get an opportunity to work more with photography and actors. I really find it fascinating the way people express emotions with their bodies.

Sadly, that's my last one. *g*

Oh, yes - both Sean and Christina seemed uncertain on Saturday, almost both waiting for the other to take the lead. Someone on my f-list pointed out that this is the first con Sean has done without Nathan, so maybe it's just getting used to not being upstaged? *g*

Physical theatre is...I guess you'd describe it as somewhere between classical theatre and contemporary dance. You'd need someone who's a lot more involved than I ever was (I ended up a musician rather than a stage performer) to explain it fully, but you've already mentioned the basic concept of expressing emotions with their bodies. It also takes in body language, all the nuances of non-verbal communication.

You mean the photography isn't professional? That surprises me, really, looking at these shots. Not just the quality of the image, but the colouring, the way you've framed each one - particularly with this set of "bodies". Especially the one of Sean rolling sleeve up, and the echoed line of arm and leg.

I have a few more. I can't photograph to save my life, but I iconed several from those gorgeous hi-res pics that were posted to the Sean comms a couple of months back

Probably there's some of that. He's apparently aware of it himself, considering the remark he made when he first arrived on stage on Saturday. *g*

Hm, that sounds really interesting! I wish my days were longer than 24h so I could poke around and discover more stuff.

Yep, no, not a professional at all. And actually, I usually work with black & white - I'm a lot more at ease with it than I am with color, because I've only just started (got a good digital camera this summer - almost never work in color with film). Point is... quality of the image is mostly the camera, coloring is mostly the camera too. The framing's more me - it's actually something very important to me in my photography, the way you frame an event or someone, because it can really change the focus and feel of the picture. This batch of picture from Serenity Cubed is a bit special because I put more of myself as a photographer into it - the other batches I've mostly tried to capture the actors, expressions and attitudes, nothing exceptional. That's why I really like the body shots - they're shots I really had clearly in mind when I took them. :)

If you're interested at all, you can see more of my photographs either on my LJ (http://greenie-breizh.livejournal.com/tag/photographs) (it's the tag "photographs", you need to scroll down to get past Serenity Cubed :) or on a portfolio I have online (http://helenefd.portfolio.free.fr) (it's mostly in French, but you can find your way to the pictures easily).

Cool, thanks for the links! I've bookmarked them for later perusal, because I have to sleep now. Dull stuff like working in the morning.

Would you mind if I friended you? Purely for the Sean-fascination, and the hands, and your marvellous photography.

Damn, I need a good icon of Sean's hands.

Ah, yes, work. So overrated. I try not to think too much about the classes I have tomorrow. ;)

I'd love to get some feedback on the photos when you've had a chance to look at them.

And please, friend away! I'm probably going to friend back, unless you mind. :)

(I've tried a little to icon the hands, but it's complicated! So hard in general to capture really how he expresses himself with his body.)
