greenie_breizh: (charlie rockin')
Totally different topic, so totally different post.

It makes me super happy to watch that Power Animal music video (scroll down a bit and you should be able to see it). Because it makes super, super happy to see Charlie and Kevin and Aaron. And mostly Charlie because, well, Charlie. I wish he and my brother could hang out. They're both insane and the best guys ever. Anyway! Kills me that I don't live in the Bay Area. *will not even think of trying to make it to Berkeley*

Also, if you can spot me and Fan' in that video, you're teh rock!

Good times. Very good times.

How come I didn't have a Charlie icon before?

Looks like this is a night for pictures! I was figuring some stuff out with Charlie and finally got to acces the Eyelashout website, which I hadn't in forever. And I stumbled across this picture :

It's absolutely brilliant. I love it. Love the bluriness, love that none of them is looking the same way, love the colors, the light, the framing.

And it's an excellent opportunity to say again how amazing those three guys are. So much fun. And all so talented. So very loveable. And so adorable, especially as far as Charlie is concerned (well mostly I just know him better). There's absolutely no way I'm going to be in the States or Canada and not seeing Charlie (and hopefully Aaron and Kevin) again. Too many amazing memories of that time in L.A., and it's been far too long since I've heard his voice.

Which is a good moment to pimp any CD he's worked on, in particular Mad Brilliant, Power Animal VS the world and Soccer Hooligans. Generally speaking, I really like the website.

God it feels good to be free for a little while. Started "Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett, and of course it's a riot. Hehe. I hope it won't take me weeks to finish it.

About the exam today )

I can't wait to start working on Martin's article!! And Christ, I just want those Host problems to be over, it's seriously annoying me by now. But I'm happy that the Power Animal forums seem to be a happy place again.

Also, YAYYYYY!! Yod's present has FINALLY arrived. And also my paper telling me I was on the honor roll this spring at Phillips. Gods I can't wait to see how Elsa likes it over there.

I think that's about it, leaving for Paris tomorrow so I won't update till this weekend I suppose.

This subject is unrelated to anything in that post, or in my life right now. My eyes just stumbled on it.

Uhm. Barely a week til my exam. I'm done reviewing the biggest book, I'm now moving on to Aristotle as his dear sexist and racist theories. Ahhh gotta love the Greeks. History is still the huge thing I'm never gonna be ready for. Litterature, it's kinda my thing, I babble all right. History's gonna be a huge crash. Oh well. We'll see.

[livejournal.com profile] fan_elune went back home this morning. It was all right, partly because we're seeing each other again on Friday and because I just felt too happy to be with her to get really sad. It's very strange not to have her around, though. I sorta expect to stop typing and be able to lean against her. Oh well. It's no big, just feels kinda strange.

Been discussing with Charlie and all. Everything's such a mess right now. My domain name won't work anymore (though the website still exists for sure), Charlie and I were trying to set up a free online store together, I've been wondering if I should switch to a paying but maybe better hosting (EliteFanHost is pissing me off right now), I have to work on the Italian version of Protest and make the Fanlisting accessible again and I have to start revamping Power Animal's website... which is a pain, cuz I can't help wanting to do real sweet stuff I just can't do right now, so I've spent time looking for tutorials and all. Also, playing with brushes. Argggh. Reached something somewhat satisfactory (unfinished) : have a quick look but I might end up doing something totally different.

Am HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY. Where's the pizza?? Kids, come back. (Oh, and I got my ass kicked at Risk again. I wish I could pretend to win at least once!)

And... on to Aristotle.

All right, so it's probably not going to be very interesting for most people, but oh well.

Just a bit about my life :
- Ken Loach's "Ae Fond Kiss" is a very good movie. The arguments surrounding problems of inter-religious relationships are well presented and scaringly resembles ones you could hear in a closeted gay relationship. Plus, the two actors (Eva Birthistle & Atta Yaqub) are both very pretty (I don't know which is prettier than the other ;) and work really well together.
- CDM.net is up and running!! It's even compatible with IE, Firefox and Safari!!!! It took me forever to figure everything out and I'd be really grateful if people find pages that don't look good and let me know so I can correct that. Also, you can now hear Power Animal's song "Hear We Bleed" on the Music page!!!
- Worms World Party is THE BEST GAME EVER!! Mwah-ah-ah. I'm having so much fun with those worms. And *not* just because I get to kick Bush and Chirac's ass *at the same time*.
- French-speaking friends, even if you're not into RPGs, do yourselves a favor and go download "Le donjon de Naheulbeuk" HERE and NOW. It's an absolutely HILARIOUS audio saga of a group that's RPGing in a donjon (at first anyway). Some quotes are just precious, and the elf is soooo funny. Plus, you need to listen to it to understand what we're talking about when we say "elvish underwear". Seriously, if you're feeling down one night this is the best remedy ever. Yes, I'm addicted now. "Va me chercher la cruche."

On to serious business. As you might know, the Federal Ban on Same-sex Marriage in the US has been defeated in the US Senate 48-50 (it's good, considering they would have needed 60 people to vote in favor of it for it to pass). Now we have to wait and see how it does in the House of Representatives, but let's face it, the fight is far from over. So some stuff about that :
- first of all, for future reference, here is how every single Senator voted.
- because it's always good to know the arguments you're fighting against, here is a post by lj user [livejournal.com profile] laura42h2g2 that sums up what Senators against gay marriage had to say about it
- read about how legalized same-sex marriages have modified the institution in Nothern Europe here
- the America Anthropological Association thinks stable same-sex unions contribute to the welfare of society. Not that they're the ultimate source of knowledge, but it's a start.
- This article notes that the American Medical Association supported legislation to allow gay couples to adopt because gay parents is not detrimental to raising children.
- On that point, never forget that the American Psychological Assocation concludes that no studies whatsoever has found gay parenting to be detrimental to children, either : read the summary of studies.

Meep! I know I should be posting a little more, the essential remains that I'm well and alive, trying to deal with everything (and Ghost of the Robot's being ended by James doesn't help). I love my Chazz and all.
