"...Spain, Portugal, Bosnia, Tokyo." Um, so Japan doesn't get to be a country in Torchwood-land?
Also, Ianto, not allowed to break my heart just by saying "me, too", 'kay? I really like the way they're handling Ianto/Jack so far, and that Jack has that distance... double thumbs-up for lead gay couple in action/sci-fi TV. I mean, seriously very cool when you think about it. I thought they had a good balance between giving the relationship some attention, and things just being Torchwood.
I liked Rupesh, why did he die? I wanted him on the team! :/ I want the new girl at the Home Office on the team now, too.
I actually really enjoyed this episode. Torchwood's never been the greatest show ever written but this was cool and I'm looking forward to the next episode. :D I still haven't gotten around watching the Dr. Who specials I've missed, though, and I don't particularly want to. Hm.
Oh, and do we know who Martha's gotten married to? Did I just forget that?

I feel like I wasn't productive today but I actually did get stuff done. I've been handling the kittens a fair bit, too, and it's going really well considering how freaked out they were yesterday. The two boys, Sonny and Quisha, are a lot less nervous and napping on the top of their cardboard hideout in the bathroom. The girl (officially Echo I think :) is more skittish but she's slowly coming around. She still cowers a little but she's been purring when we pet her (Quisha, too, he's so cute). And MeiMei's not hissing anymore, she likes to lick them and has even started playing with them, and I think that's really going to help them relax, too.

Date: 2009-07-07 08:18 am (UTC)(I totally had a dream about Rupesh last night, that's what happen when you wait to see the episode just before going to bed)
It's nice to hear about the blackwhite kitten :)

Date: 2009-07-07 02:52 pm (UTC)The second thing is whenever I'm doing something where I can stay pretty still on the bed, I grab one of the kittens (gently) and I do some nice man-handling. ^^ Since they're skittish I don't let them out of my lap, so I basically just pet them while reading/doing math/whatever. Yesterday that's when Quisha and Echo started purring, so it's a good sign. :) I also let them interact with MeiMei a little bit since she's not hissing anymore, and Echo was walking on my bed last night not trying to escape thanks to that, so I consider that a good step forward, too.
We never really got a manual on how to do this, we were only told to keep the cat(s) in a room by themselves at first, so hopefully I'm not doing anything wrong. ;) But the cats/kittens we've had in the past have all been lovely, so I assume they were never too traumatized. ;)
I would love to do this with a puppy, but it requires more space, I would assume :)

Date: 2009-07-08 07:32 pm (UTC)I know I'm annoying everybody in real life, because I can't stop talking about dogs, positive reinforcement and clicker training, but if you're interested in teaching your (foster) cats a few things, you can check out this website. Don't believe anyone who tells you cats can't be trained! Further reading here and in Don't Shoot the Dog by Karen Pryor.

Puppies requires a lot mental and physical stimulation, but that doesn't have to mean a big house or a garden (if you take them out and play with them often enough). However puppies are probably more time-consuming than kittens. I'm guessing one reason for that is dogs tend to go to a lot more places/meet more people than cats, so they have to be socialised more and learn more rules about how to behave in human society.
