Gender stereotypes

I am trying to get all the midterms out of the way by the end of this weekend so that next week I can focus on my thesis, and I'm doing pretty good, but some of the stuff I am writing so often that it's starting to drive me crazy.

In spite of that, I still like how concise and effective this definition is:

Gender stereotypes are widely held beliefs about the defining characteristics of masculinity and femininity. They are both descriptive (suggesting what group members are like) and prescriptive (specifying what group members ought to be like).

Only 20 or so to go!

Oh, ok. I hope you read it often.
Though I think one of the reasons (next to my brain being off)I had trouble with this post was that you wrote "ome of the stuff I am writing so often". Shouldn't that be "I am reading so often"? Or did I really get everything confused.
It's a good definition, btw.

When the students get the definition wrong, or only partially right (or phrase it awkwardly), I often write the correct one in the margin, so students know how they should have said it. :) It was probably not very clear unless you're in the midst of doing, sorry. ;)
