This is the second part of Martin Firrell's project, "Hero: the future of gods, icons and heroes" - this is input from people all over, and some of those quotes are very powerful. It's an amazing project, and I can't wait to see more of it.

I'm just a bit annoyed that the quotes in the project always mention men as heroes and say nothing about women. We can be heroes too!

I think the original idea of the project is to promote a new expression of masculinity, because that's what's most problematic in gender identities nowadays? Though I might be mistaken. But I think the focus on guys was pretty definite from the start.

Someone just needs to do something just as awesome with women. *g*
