Entendue sur France 2 pendant un sujet sur les jouets de Noël :

"Les figurines, pour les garçons, et les poupées pour les filles, bien sûr."

US politics is far too closely connected to US Christian religion for my comfort, especially in certain states. I had no clue about the artificial insemination though, really? Not for any single women? Good grief. How on earth do the powers-that-be justify that in this day and age?

I can't comment on the Christmas magazines. I do all my yuletide shopping from websites *g*

(yes, I'm round to the Sean icons...)

Definitely too connected to religion for my taste overall as well. But then some States are just beyond me they're so far behind on so many issues. I say Canada all the way. *g*

Why, but because children need a mom and a dad to be brought up correctly. Single mothers? What a dreadful idea. Everybody knows in real life all children are born into nuclear well-adjusted families.

...I'm being sarcastic but unfortunately, that's actually the reasoning behind it. Actually it's even worse, because artificial insemination here is only available for married couple, and I think you have to have followed an fertility treatement for a few years. It's absolutely ridiculous, and you've got women all over the place getting inseminations in Belgium and Spain as a result. What-ever.

Well, I stay away from the magazines myself *g*, but clearly I can't escape them entirely.

(Hmmm Sean icons. *nibbles*)
