Ah! I love that you stumbled into it and now you can't let go. *g* Photography really does grow on you, there's something fascinating about it I think. (I barely ever studied it myself, just can't stop!)
So what do you do in your photo class? Learn about techniques, or compare prints? You're going to print all of your photography? I really miss doing that, though it gets entirely too frustrating at times.
I officially fell in love with my SLR camera at Serenity Cubed. It was amazing being able to take so many good pictures (not worry about the cost of development!). So yeah, you should totally get yours before Flan. Digital SLRs tend to be really expensive, but they're worth it, especially if you can use the lenses you have right now on it. What kind of lenses d'you have, actually? (God, I'm so curious, I'm sorry. I just know too few photographers. *g*)
