Land ho...?

Last night I went to a new forum I'd been told about and posted about Harken, again. Got some answers, was advised to uninstall NVIDIA Network Access Manager, apparently a crappy firewall of some kind? So I did, because I'm at that point where I'll try anything anyway.

Now, 00:21 AM : Harken's been running since 3:30PM this afternoon without a glitch. Meaning the trio of sites is still working fine right now. It's never worked for so long since... ever?

Picture me very hopeful that maybe we've found the source of the problem, finally. That said, it's a little early to declare the battel over and done with, so I shall just say I'm very hopeful. I have to let the computer run through the night, and if tomorrow morning everything's still working fine, I'll let myself squee a little bit.

La justice fait un pas vers l'homoparentalité

Just saw this on yodah's journal, and of course I had to forward!

Dans un arrêt,la Cour de cassation reconnaît les mêmes droits et devoirs à la mère "biologique" et à sa compagne homosexuelle.

A French court has just ruled to allow the partner in a lesbian couple to share parental authority over the two daughters they have. Most important thing, the ruling sets a precedent and therefore is a step forward towards legal recognition of what we call "homoparenthood", namely gay couples raising children.

What I find funniest in this whole legal battle is that whatever the ruling, it's always "in the best interest of the children" that the judges rule. And since nobody has really decided what is best for the children, you get contradicting rulings with pretty much the same arguments. He.

Anyway. It's only a start, but boy it's encouraging.
