His stance is interesting. I just hope it's not read as «let's buid a new masculinity», because it will just end up reiterating the traditional binary devide between men and women, whose consequence is sexism and homophobia.
I agree that eschewing from using violence is crucial if humanity is to survive. It is something that preoccupies me as much as you, I guess. Trying to address it effectively led me to believe it is important to find its roots rather than constantly nip at its base. I still have to articulate it clearly, but for me it boils down to uprooting all acts of domination, regardless of which sex commits it (though we may assume in all certainty that acts of massive destruction are mainly the product of men's actions). And these thrive in everyday interactions. (found something interesting on that, I might post it at some later time)
