greenie_breizh- Living 'til the End FINALLY arrived. And right now the only thing I can say is that I was already disappointed that they'd filmed in Paris and I wasn't even aware, but Sean filmed a freakin' topless scene in the streets here. How did I miss that? Karma, what did I do to you? /mindless fangirl ramble
I wasn't as impressed by the photography of the movie as I'd been by the photography available on the website, though I did like the way a number of scenes were shot. The first scene with the dark background and half shots in particular I really enjoyed.
What struck me most was the silence in the movie - very little music in it, but it didn't work for this movie like it works for others. It just worked to slow down the pace even more and it was already not terribly fast-paced. The two main actors did do a great job imo, though - Sean killed me with the cute as usual (again, there's a physicality to Jack's character which Sean conveys very well and it's something he mentions himself) and I really liked how Jack's vulnerability came through. Jaime played both the happy and anxious side of Audrey is way that made her appealing - and she's truly a beautiful woman, perhaps even more so than in Veronica Mars because she looks more natural.
That said : could Sean look gayer than with that white sweater (and actually the answer's yes)? And orange's so not his color. Oh, c'mon, I had to go back to superficial. *g*
- Note to UK Civilization lecturer : please take two seconds of your life to realize how deeply ironic it is for you to tell us about socialization at school, to tell us that it shapes our views of gender, and then move on to talking of family and then only mention mothers? Really. I wonder why we keep associating women with the role of caretakers and men with the figure of authority. *headdesk* The worse part is that I notice that kind of thing (and vent my frustration at poor![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Whether because it's too small to be noticed or because it's so familiar that we've stopped noticing, most people just keep unconsciously integrating it and it kills me. That at university level, we'd talk of parenting and its effect on the kid's socialization and rather than talk of parents, we talk of mothers. Fuck that.
